September 20, 2006 - August 10, 2010

Emma & Taylor Bailey have returned to our Father in Heaven yesterday, August 10th, 2010. They passed after complications encountered during surgery. The Bailey family has always appreciated the thoughts and prayers offered on behalf of their beautiful twin girls and we ask that they may continue for their family through these challenging times.

We have all been blessed to know Emma and Taylor. While their years were short on earth, their impact will last generations. We are humbled and honored to have felt the tender mercies of our Lord through the lives of these precious children. We invite you to reflect upon Elder Bednar's quote below and hope that it may provide some measure of comfort to you as it does for the Bailey family.

"We should not underestimate or overlook the power of the Lord’s tender mercies. The simpleness, the sweetness, and the constancy of the tender mercies of the Lord will do much to fortify and protect us in the troubled times in which we do now and will yet live. When words cannot provide the solace we need or express the joy we feel, when it is simply futile to attempt to explain that which is unexplainable, when logic and reason cannot yield adequate understanding about the injustices and inequities of life, when mortal experience and evaluation are insufficient to produce a desired outcome, and when it seems that perhaps we are so totally alone, truly we are blessed by the tender mercies of the Lord and made mighty even unto the power of deliverance (see 1 Ne. 1:20)."

Dear Mandy and Tor, I am sending you all my love, prayers and strength at the loss of your precious Emma and Taylor. I truly do understand how your hearts must be breaking right now. They were amazing, incredible, beautiful strong little girls and I know my Bethany Rose will be waiting with open arms to greet them in heaven. I'm so sad for your family...
please tell your kids that my family is praying for them. It's a terrible thing to let your siblings go... I wish you didn't have this trial, and yet I know that the Lord sees it as a good and necesary thing. I've learned through my own losses that no death is an accident. Your girls are so happy right now...But the hole you must feel is tragic. I'm so sorry for your loss. Queen Creek will not be the same without them here.

You don't know me or my family, but we were on your flight last Sunday from Phoenix to Seattle. My two year old son smiled and flirted, as much as a two year old can, with your girls as we waited in the boarding area, he loves little girls and always makes notice of the cutest ones, Emma and Taylor certainly had his attention. When I saw on the news here in the Seattle area that your girls had passed I couldn't contain my tears for your family. Our family is LDS too, we know that Emma and Taylor will be waiting for you in Paradise. Please know that our prayers have been with you this week, we pray for peace for your family.

so sorry for your loss rejoice that you will see them again that love never ends and that they were two beautiful little girls.

My daughter was so distraught over the twins' passing, she cried at the thought of Paige losing her sisters, and was quite inconsolable for while. Even with the reminders that they are with our Father in Heaven, and can run and play and have TWO hearts now, she was still so concerned, until she remembered that we have a family member there, our dog, that passed a few years ago. Now she comforts herself by reminding herself that Emma and Taylor are fine, because Judy (our dog) is there to protect them. I know this story may sound silly, but to a 6 year old who doesn't remember life without Emma and Taylor around, it helps her cope. Maybe it will bring a smile to someone's face and help them to cope, as well. So to Mandy, Tor, Paige, Drew, Cole, Emma, Taylor, and Blake: all our love to all of you.

I am so very, very sorry for your loss. I read about it in the newspaper, and I just wanted you to know we're praying for you. I was relieved to see you are LDS, so I know that you know you will see your little ladies again, though it will be very difficult in the interim. I have no doubt your family is being watched over, and I pray you continue to feel the comforts of the Spirit as you go through this difficult time. Your little ladies are just precious. I am so sorry.
